SECTION 5. ROOF AND WALL COVERING
5.1 GENERAL
5.1.1 Wall panels shall be PBR, Vistashadow™, ShadowRib™, or NuWall™ as
specified.
5.1.2 Roof Panels shall be PBR, Double-Lok® Machine Seam Standing Seam, Ultra-Dek® Snap
Seam Standing Seam, SuperLok™ Standing Seam, or BattenLok® Standing
Seam Roof System.
5.1.3 PBR roof and wall panels as specified shall be either 26 gauge steel,
coated both sides with an aluminum-zinc alloy or 26 gauge steel, coated
with Signature
200 Series siliconized polyester finish or 26 gauge steel, coated with
Signature 300 Series (70% fluoropolymer) finish, all with an aluminum-zinc
alloy substrate.
5.1.4 Vistashadow™ wall panels as specified shall be 26 gauge steel,
coated with a Signature 200 Series siliconized polyester finish or 26 gauge
steel, coated
with Signature 300 Series (70% fluoropolymer) finish, all with an aluminum-zinc
alloy substrate.
5.1.5 ShadowRib® wall panels as specified shall be 24 or 22 gauge steel,
available with either a smooth texture or an embossed texture (reduces
oil canning) with either a Signature 200 Series siliconized polyester finish
or a Signature
300 Series (70% fluoropolymer) finish, all with an aluminum-zinc alloy
substrate.
5.1.6 NuWall™ wall panels as specified shall be 26, 24, or 22 gauge
steel, available with either a smooth texture or an embossed texture (reduces
oil canning)
with either a Signature 200 Series siliconized polyester finish or a Signature
300 Series (70% fluoropolymer) finish, all with an aluminum-zinc alloy
substrate.
5.1.7 Ultra-Dek® and Double-Lok® Standing Seam Roof System panels
as specified shall be either 24 gauge steel coated with an aluminum-zinc
alloy,
24 gauge coated with Signature 200 Series siliconized polyester with an
aluminum-zinc alloy substrate, or 24 gauge pre-coated with a Signature
300 Series (70% fluoropolymer)
finish over an aluminum-zinc alloy substrate.
5.1.8 BattenLok® Standing Seam roof panels as specified shall be either
24 gauge steel coated with an aluminum-zinc alloy or 24 gauge pre-coated
with a
Signature 300 Series (70% fluoropolymer), finish over an aluminum-zinc
alloy substrate.
5.1.9 SuperLok™ Standing Seam roof panels as specified shall be either
24 gauge steel coated with an aluminum-zinc alloy or 24 gauge pre-coated
with a Signature 300 Series (70% fluoropolymer) finish over an aluminum-zinc
alloy
substrate.
5.2 PANEL DESCRIPTIONS
5.2.1 PBR Panel: Panels shall have four (4) major ribs 1 1/4” high, spaced
12” on center. Between the major corrugations are two (2) minor corrugations.
All sidelaps shall be composed of one major rib from each adjacent panel utilizing
the underlying purlin bearing rib for support. Each panel shall provide 36” net
coverage in width.
5.2.2 Vistashadow Wall Panel: Panels shall have four (4) major ribs 1 1/8” high,
spaced 12” center. Panel design provides a decorative smooth shadowline
with a semi-concealed fastener appearance. All sidelaps shall be composed of
one major rib from each adjacent panel. Each wall panel shall provide 36” net
coverage in width.
5.2.3 “A” Wall Panel: Panels design provides a decorative smooth
shadowline with a semi-concealed fastener appearance. All sidelaps shall be composed
of one major rib from each adjacent panel. Each wall panel shall provide 36” net
coverage in width.
5.2.4 ShadowRib Wall Panel: Panels shall be 3 inches deep with alternating
5 1/4” wide x 1 1/2” deep fluting ribs. Panel design provides a decorative,
concealed fastener, smooth or embossed panel surface. All sidelaps shall be composed
of 3” deep, concealed fastener ribs. Each wall panel shall provide a net
coverage of 16”.
5.2.5 NuWall Wall Panel: Panels shall be 2 1/2” deep with alternating 1/2” fluting
ribs. Panel design provides a decorative, concealed fastener, smooth or embossed
panel surface. All sidelaps shall be 2 1/2” deep, concealed fastener ribs.
Each panel shall provide a net coverage of 12”
5.2.6 Double-Lok® Machine Seam Roofing System: Panels shall UL90 rated, rollformed,
24 gauge (minimum) structural quality aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel sheet
complying with ASTM A792. All aluminum-zinc alloy steel sheeting shall have a
minimum of class AZ-50 coating on both sides and a minimum yield of 50,000 psi.
Panels shall have a new coverage of 24” with a 3” high rib at both
sidelaps. The panels are to be mechanically seamed together at the sidelaps utilizing
the Pittsburgh Seam. Endlaps shall be pre-punched for proper placement of fasteners.
Panels shall be attached to the structural system with concealed clips with factory
applied mastic.
5.2.6.1 Low Floating Clips: The clips shall be 3 3/8” in height providing
a 3/8” clearance
for insulation between the panel and the purlin. Floating clips shall provide
a minimum of 2” movement to allow for expansion and contraction.
5.2.6.2 High Floating Clips: The clips shall be 4 3/8” in height providing
a 1” thermal spacer for added insulation at the purlins. Floating clips
shall provide a minimum a 2” movement to allow for expansion and contraction.
5.2.7 Ultra-Dek® Snap Seam Roofing System: Panels shall be UL90 rated rollformed,
24 gauge (minimum) structural quality aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel sheet
complying with ASTM A792. Aluminum-zinc alloy sheet steel shall have a minimum
of class AZ-50 coating on both sides and a minimum yield stress of 50,000 psi.
Panels shall have a net coverage of 24” and a 3” high rib at both
sidelaps. One side of the panel shall be female in configuration, suitable to
accept the other male side, and form a locking assembly. Panel sidelaps shall
have factory applied foamable hot melt mastic sealant. Endlaps shall be pre-punched
for proper placement of fasteners. Panels shall attach to the structural system
with concealed clips that have factory-applied mastic and be designed so that
movement between the panel and clip does not occur.
5.2.7.1 Utility Clips: The clips shall be 3” in height and used when insulation
is not required.
5.2.7.2 Low Fixed Clips: The clips shall be 3 3/8” in height providing
a 3/8” clearance for insulation between the panel and the purlin.
5.2.7.3 High Fixed Clips: The clips shall be 3 3/8” in height to accommodate
a 1” thermal spacer for added insulation at the purlins.
5.2.7.4 Low Floating Clips: The clips shall be 3 3/8” in height. Floating
clips shall provide a minimum of 2” movement for expansion and contraction
while allowing 3/8” clearance for insulation between the panel and the
purlins.
5.2.7.5 High Floating Clips: The clips shall be 4 3/8” in height. Floating
clips shall provide a minimum of 2” movement for expansion and contraction
while allowing a 1” thermal spacer for added insulation at the purlins.
5.2.8 BattenLok® Standing Seam Roofing System: Panels shall be UL90 rated
rollformed, 24 gauge (minimum) structural quality aluminum-zinc alloy coated
steel sheet complying with ASTM A792. The aluminum-zinc alloy sheet shall have
a minimum of class AZ-50 coating on both sides and a minimum yield stress for
50,000 psi. Panels shall have a net coverage of 16” and a 2” high
rib at both sidelaps. The panels are joined at the edges with a mechanically
locked standing seam. Panel sidelaps shall have a factory-applied mastic and
be designed so that movements between the panel and clip does not occur.
5.2.8.1 Utility Clips: The clips be 2” in height and used when insulation
is not required.
5.2.8.2 Low Fixed Clips: The clips shall be 2 3/8” in height providing
a 3/8” clearance for insulation between the panel and the purlin.
5.2.8.3 High Fixed Clips: The clips shall be 3 3/8” in height to accommodate
a 1” thermal spacer for added insulation to the purlins.

5.2.9 SuperLok Standing Seam Roofing System: Panels shall be UL90 rated
rollformed, 24 or 22 gauge structural quality aluminum-zinc alloy coated
steel complying
with ASTM A792. The aluminum-zinc steel shall have a minimum of class AZ-50
coating on both sides and a minimum yield stress for 50,000 psi. Panels
shall have a
net coverage of either 12 or 16 inches and a 2” high rib at both
sidelaps. Panels sidelaps shall have a factory-applied hot melt mastic
and are designed
for electrically powered mechanical attachment to the structure utilizing
concealed clips.
5.2.9.1 Utility Clips: The clips shall be 2” in height and used when insulation
is not required.
5.2.9.2 Low Fixed Clips: The clips shall be 2 3/8” in height, providing
a 3/8” clearance for insulation between the panel to the purlins.
5.2.9.3 High Fixed Clips: The clips shall be 3 3/8” in height to accommodate
a 1” thermal spacer for added insulation to the purlins.
5.2.9.4 Low Floating Clips: The clips shall be 2 3/8” in height. Floating
clips shall provide a minimum of 1 5/8” movement for thermal expansion
and contraction as well as 3/8” clearance for insulation between the panel
and purlin.
5.2.9.5 High Floating Clips: The clips shall be 3 3/8” in height.
Floating clips shall provide a minimum of 1 5/8” movement for thermal
expansion and contraction as well as the height to accommodate a 1” thermal
spacer for added insulation to the purlins.
